Why Hire A Professional Wedding Photographer
Weddings are an expensive event, the costs involved soon add up. So its only natural to want to make some savings, cut costs here and there, stretch the budget a little further.
But here is why I think photography should not be one of those areas to save on.
Photography Is More Than An Expensive Camera
Just because I have all the bricks, tools and supplies to build a house doesn't mean I would. I have no training or experience as a builder. To be quite honest I would make a terrible job of even the most simple building task.
The same is true of photography, we all know a friend or family member who has a nice fancy, expensive camera. So why shouldn't we ask them to photograph the wedding?
Well just because they have a capable camera doesn't mean they would be able to photograph a wedding and get the results you want.
The camera doesn't do the work, it is merely a tool to capture those precious moments and memories from your wedding day
You need someone who know how to use the camera in any situation and get the very best from it. This only comes from experience of many different situations many years and hours developing skills and knowledge.
With this come consistency to produce not just a hand full of stunning photographs, but a whole album full and more.
Amateur Means More Work For You
A professional wedding photographer will have years of experience. They will know what shots to take, where to be, how the wedding day flows. You can leave them to get on with the job, have confidence that they know what they are doing and where to be.
They know how a wedding works so can anticipate where to be next and what is likely to happen. Weddings are not a photo shoot and can not be redone. With years of experience a professional knows exactly where to be to capture those perfect moments.
What happens if the worst happens, your photographer is ill and cant make the wedding. Professional photographers have a plan B. They have a circle of photographers and resources to ensure your wedding is still photographed and the very best photographs are still captured.
Maybe a camera or lens gets dropped and is no longer usable. What now, well every professional wedding photographer has a back up. Spare cameras and lenses to continue the day with out compromise. It will be a slight inconvenience but wont be a worry to them, not only because they are equipped to continue regardless, but because the equipment is insured and will just get replaced or repaired for very little cost.
Not many people feel comfortable in front of a camera. Some people are awkward and stiff and just don't know how and where to stand.
This is where a professional photographer will put people at ease. Creating a natural and comfortable looking photograph. This comes with the experience with working with people and photography.
By putting you at ease you get natural, fun photographs with happy people. You can relax and have no stress knowing that you will have beautiful natural photographs.
You Only Get One Take
Your wedding day is a special day, and hopefully it will be your only wedding day.
Once its finished it becomes memories.
Chose a photographer that you have confidence in. To get it right first time as there is no going back. Provide you with the photographs that you can look back on and treasure.
Make sure these photographs that give you happy memories and not make you wish you had paid a little more for your photographer.
Cut The Corners
So if you reduce the budget on your cake a little, go for plain table cloths, have a 3 course meal instead of 4. Nobody will really notice or remember, the cake will be eaten and gone in less than a week. But those photographs will be your lasting memories telling the beautiful story of your wedding day, you will have those for ever.....
